Horse Farms and Horse Tales of the Bluegrass

Almost everyone agrees that Kentucky’s Bluegrass region is the Horse Capital of the World. It is also a uniquely beautiful area that welcomes thousands of visitors each year, drawn by the beautiful and historic horse farms that gave birth to some of the world’s finest horses.. All of them, however, have one thing in common: they have consistently produced outstanding horses.

As time draws near to the World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky, I would like to help visitors to this area participate in the best of what the Bluegrass has to offer by pointing out a few of the exciting and varied experiences available and sharing some of my knowledge of this region.

I’m Tom Beall, and I’ve lived and worked in Central Kentucky my entire life. I’ve been active in farming and the equine industry, and have a real love of nature, the beauty of this area, and the people here. I want to make your stay here as pleasant as possible — hopefully sharing some of the information that I have acquired over the years and assisting you in smoothly navigating around the Central Kentucky region.

As owner and operator of an outdoor recreational facility, Sugar Creek Resort, www.sugarcreekresort.com, which is located about 10 miles south of Lexington, I lead trail rides and canoeing on the Kentucky River. I also offer corporate picnics, workplace development such as team building, and lodging.

I also have an interest in two books, Horse Farms and Horse Tales of the Bluegrass and Bluegrass Treasures: A Guide to Extraordinary Lodging, Dining & Entertainment. Both of these books contain wonderful information for anyone interested in visiting this area.

If you’d like more information about this area or have questions about visiting this region, please feel free to write me at ahorse4u2@aol.com. I will answer all questions as best I can, and if you don’t hear from me immediately, please keep in mind that I’m having to balance my goodwill ambassadorship with farming and the care of eight horses and four dogs.

I sincerely hope you will have an enjoyable stay with us and plan many return trips to Kentucky. It is truly a beautiful area brimming with warm hospitality.

Tom
